How to Replace the Left Hand Engine Damping Block Opel Combo C

DOHC Diesel Engine 4 illustrations ~400 words

Remove

  1. 1. Open bonnet
  2. 2. Remove fuel filter housing (2) • Disconnect 4 lines (1) and (4) – Use KM-796-A • Disconnect 2 wiring harness plugs – Housing cover (3) – Housing bottom (arrow) • Close 4 fuel lines
  1. 3. Loosen coolant compensation tank • Unclip coolant compensation tank
  2. 4. Remove crash box • Remove nut • Remove nut
  3. 5. Loosen front wheel • Loosen 4 bolts
  4. 6. Raise vehicle • Half way up
  5. 7. Remove front wheel
  6. 8. Raise vehicle
  7. 9. Remove lower engine compartment cover / splash protection
  8. 10. Attach KM-6394 • Position KM-6394 (1) at the front on the front axle body • Push front bracket (2) in the direction of the arrow • Place rear bracket (4), right hand side, on front axle body • Attach rear bracket (3), left hand side – Screw in 2x bolt • Tighten 6 bolts

Note. Both locating pins (arrows) must be seated in the bores in the front axle body.

  1. 11. Install support • On KM-6394 – Adjust bracket (2) for support • Screw on nut (1)
  2. 12. Adjust 3x support • Transmission side • Engine timing side – Insert journal of the support in the bore of the cylinder block free of play (arrow) – Tighten nuts (1)

Note. Turn spindles until mounts (3) are positioned at the guide journals free of play.

  1. 13. Lower vehicle
  2. 14. Detach left engine damping block • Unscrew 2 bolts (1)
  3. 15. Remove left transmission bracket • Unscrew 3 bolts (arrows)
  4. 16. Remove left engine damping block • Unscrew 4 bolts (2)

Install

  1. 17. Install left engine damping block • Tighten 4 bolts 25 Nm
  2. 18. Install left transmission bracket • Tighten 3x bolts 60 Nm
  3. 19. Attach left engine damping block • Tighten 2 new bolts 80 Nm + 60° - 75°
  4. 20. Install crash box • Tighten 2 nuts 25 Nm
  5. 21. Install fuel filter housing • Connect 2 wiring harness plugs • Connect 4 lines
  6. 22. Fasten coolant compensation tank • Clip in coolant compensation tank
  7. 23. Raise vehicle
  8. 24. Detach support • Engine timing side
  9. 25. Detach KM-6394
  10. 26. Install lower engine compartment cover / splash protection
  11. 27. Lower vehicle • Half way up
  12. 28. Attach front wheel • Screw in 4 bolts
  13. 29. Lower vehicle
  14. 30. Secure front wheel • Tighten 4 bolts 110 Nm
  15. 31. Close bonnet
