Remove
- 1. Remove timing case cover
Important. Screw in M6x20 bolt flush
- 2. Screw in fixing bolt - spur gear - high pressure pump (1)
- 3. Remove 2 spur gears • Disconnect incremental disc - crankshaft (3) • Unscrew 4x bolt (2)
Install
- 4. Raise vehicle by its entire height
- 5. Set cylinder 1 to TDC • Insert torsional vibration damper • Remove torsional vibration damper
Note. Turn crankshaft with KM-6347 (1) together with KM-956-1 (2) until the marks on the torsional vibration damper and oil pump housing are aligned.
Important. Note guide pins and oil ducts.
- 6. Install 2x spur gear (4) • Insert 2 spur gears – Marks (arrows) on all spur gears (1), (3) and (4) must be aligned. Turn the high pressure pump spur wheel if necessary. The cooling pump spur gear (2) has no marking. • Tighten 4x bolt 35 Nm • Insert incremental disc - crankshaft sensor
Note. First install lower spur gear
Important. "FT" marking must be visible
- 7. Lower vehicle by its entire height
- 8. Unscrew and remove fixing bolt, high pressure pump, spur gear
- 9. Install timing case cover
