How to Check the Compression Opel Vectra C

Remove

1. 1. Remove all sheathed glow plugs
2. 2. Connect battery. • Attach earth clamp – Tighten nuts

3. 3. Install KM-6373 (2) in sheathed glow plug hole of cylinder 1
4. 4. Attach compression tester (1) to KM-6373

Note. Follow manufacturer's instructions. Measuring range from 1000 to 4000 kPa.

5. 5. Remove ashtray (2) • Open ashtray lid (1) • Remove ashtray upwards
6. 6. Remove ashtray housing (3) • Release ashtray housing at the inner openings on the left and right-hand sides by pulling forcefully upwards • Remove ashtray housing upwards

7. 7. Establish communication • Connect Tech 2 to diagnostics plug (1) • Retrieve actuator test • Select compression test

Inspect

8. 8. Check compression of cylinder 1 • Start engine for approx. 4 seconds • Engine speed at least 150 rpm

Note. The pressure difference between individual cylinders should not exceed 100 kPa.

9. 9. Detach compression tester
10. 10. Remove KM-6373
11. 11. Check compression of cylinder 3
12. 12. Check compression of cylinder 5
13. 13. Check compression of cylinder 2
14. 14. Check compression of cylinder 4
15. 15. Check compression of cylinder 6
16. 16. End communication • Detach Tech 2

Install

17. 17. Install ashtray housing • Insert ashtray housing and lock it into place by pushing forcefully on it
18. 18. Replace ashtray
19. 19. Disconnect battery. • Detach earth terminal – Remove nut
20. 20. Install 6x sheathed glow plugs
