Remove

Important. In vehicles with ESP - the steering angle sensor loses its basic settings every time the battery is disconnected and has to be recalibrated.

  1. 1. Open bonnet
  2. 2. Disconnect battery • Ground connection from negative terminal – Slacken nut
  3. 3. Remove mixture regulator lambda sensor (1) using KM-6129 • Disconnect wiring harness connector (3) • Unclip wiring harness from bracket (2)
  1. 4. Remove oil dipstick guide tube (2) • Unscrew bolt (3)
  2. 5. Detach exhaust manifold • Unscrew 9x nuts (1) – Detach from outside to inside
  1. 6. Raise vehicle by its full height

Important. Angular dislocations of the flexpipe as small as 5 to 10 degrees offset from the intended installation position can already cause damage and subsequent complete failure of the flexpipe

  1. 7. Detach front exhaust pipe (1) from catalytic converter • Disconnect oxygen sensor catalytic converter control wiring harness plug • Unscrew 3x nut • Suspend front exhaust pipe from underside of vehicle with wire
  1. 8. Detach exhaust manifold from bracket • Unscrew 2x bolts (1) • Remove exhaust manifold and gasket from below
