Replace Ribbed V-Belt (Without Air Conditioning) Opel Meriva A

Remove

  1. 1. Raise vehicle
  2. 2. Remove right engine splash guard • Unscrew 3 bolts (1) • Remove body-bound rivet (arrow)
  1. 3. Attach KM-6394 (1) • Attach KM-6394 to left of front axle body – Slide brackets (2) and (3) inwards as far as they will go • Attach KM-6394 to right of front axle body – Slide bracket (4) from inside to outside as far as it will go – Slide bracket (5) from outside to inside as far as it will go • Tighten 8 bolts
  1. 4. Insert locating pins (1) upwards into front axle body • Install 2x securing split pins
  1. 5. Install support • To KM-6394 – Adjust bracket (2) for support • Screw on nut (1)
  2. 6. Adjust 3x support • Transmission side • Engine timing side – Tighten nuts (1)

Note. Turn spindles until mounts (3) are positioned at the guide journals free of play.

Note. Insert journal of the support in the bore of the cylinder block without play (arrow).

  1. 7. Loosen right engine bracket • Remove bolt (1)
  1. 8. Lower vehicle
  2. 9. Open bonnet
  3. 10. Remove air cleaner housing
  4. 11. Remove engine damping block, right side. Remove right engine bracket. Undo engine damping block. Unscrew and remove 2 bolts (1). Unscrew 2 bolts (arrow). • Unscrew 2x bolts (1) • Unscrew 2x bolts (arrows) • Remove engine damping block with bracket
  1. 12. Remove ribbed V-belt • Mark direction of rotation • Tension ribbed V-belt tensioner (arrow) clockwise using KM-6131 • Insert KM-955-2 (1) • Slacken ribbed V-belt tensioner

Install

  1. 13. Insert ribbed V-belt • Position ribbed V-belt – Pay attention to direction of travel and installation position • Tension ribbed V-belt tensioner with KM-6131 • Remove KM-955-2 • Slacken ribbed V-belt tensioner
  2. 14. Install right engine bracket • Insert lower bolt • Tighten 2x bolts at top 60 Nm
  3. 15. Fasten engine damping block • Tighten 2x bolts 40 Nm
  4. 16. Attach lower engine bracket • Raise vehicle • Tighten bolt 60 Nm
  5. 17. Install air cleaner housing
  6. 18. Raise vehicle
  7. 19. Detach engine timing side support
  8. 20. Remove KM-6394 • Undo 8x bolts
  9. 21. Attach right engine splash guard • Tighten 3x bolts • Install body-bound rivet
  10. 22. Lower vehicle
  11. 23. Close bonnet
