Replace Coolant Temperature Sensor (Z 18 XE, with AC, Lhd) Opel Meriva A

  1. 1. Open bonnet
  2. 2. Drain coolant Warning: The cooling system is under pressure. Open the cover of the compensation tank carefully. • Place collecting basin underneath • Open coolant drain bolt (arrow)
  1. 3. Remove engine cover. • Unscrew oil filler port cover • Unscrew 2x bolt • Screw on oil filler port cover
  2. 4. Remove resonator air duct • Unscrew bolt (arrow)
  1. 5. Detach 2x coolant hose • Upper coolant hose (3) – Release clamp • Preheater advance hose for throttle body module (1) – Release clamp
  2. 6. Remove thermostat housing (4) • Detach coolant temperature sensor wiring harness plug (2). • Unscrew 2x bolt (arrows)
  1. 7. Remove coolant temperature sensor • Remove coolant temperature sensor from housing
  2. 8. Clean sealing surface • cylinder head
  3. 9. Install coolant temperature sensor • Tighten coolant temperature sensor – Tightening torque 20 Nm
  4. 10. Install thermostat housing • Renew gasket • Tighten 2 bolts – Tightening torque 20 Nm – Connect coolant temperature sensor wiring harness plug.

Note. Note dissimilar bolt lengths

  1. 11. Attach 2 coolant hoses • Top part of radiator hose – Fasten clamp • Intake for throttle valve module preheater hose – Fasten clamp
  2. 12. Insert resonator air duct • Tighten bolt
  3. 13. Attach engine cover • Unscrew oil filler port cover • Tighten 2 bolts – Tightening torque 8 Nm • Screw on oil filler port cover
  4. 14. Close coolant drain bolt
  5. 15. Fill and bleed cooling system • Observe specified coolant quantity
  6. 16. Close bonnet
