Remove
- 1. Raise vehicle
- 2. Remove right engine splash guard • Unscrew 3 bolts (1) • Remove body-bound rivet (arrow)
- 3. Remove ribbed V-belt • Mark direction of rotation • Tension ribbed V-belt tensioner (arrow) clockwise using KM-6131 • Insert KM-955-2 (1) • Slacken ribbed V-belt tensioner
- 4. Remove crankshaft belt pulley (1) • Unscrew 6x bolts – Counterhold at crankshaft hub bolt
- 5. Set engine to "Cylinder no.1 ignition TDC" at crankshaft hub bolt • Mark on crankshaft hub must point upward.
- 6. Remove crankshaft hub • Attach KM-6013 (3) – Tighten 2 bolts • Counterhold with KM-956-1 in combination with KM-956-2 (4) • Remove bolt • Remove crankshaft hub (2)
Important. Do not damage sealing surfaces
- 7. Lever front timing case / crankshaft sealing ring (1) out of timing case with suitable tool
- 8. Clean sealing surfaces.
- 9. Install front timing case / crankshaft sealing ring • Coat sealing lip of the new seal ring with silicone grease • Slide sealing ring onto KM-960 (2) • Drive sealing ring flush into timing case using KM-960
Install
- 10. Attach crankshaft hub • Mark on crankshaft hub must point upward
- 11. Attach crankshaft hub • Bolt in bolt – Use new bolt • Attach KM-6013 – Tighten 2 bolts • Tighten crankshaft hub fastening bolt 150 Nm + 45° – Counterhold with KM-956-1 in combination with KM-956-2
Note. Use a second person
- 12. Attach crankshaft belt pulley to crankshaft hub • Tighten 6x bolts 8 Nm – Counterhold at crankshaft hub bolt
- 13. Insert ribbed V-belt • Position ribbed V-belt – Pay attention to direction of travel and installation position • Tension ribbed V-belt tensioner with KM-6131 • Remove KM-6130 • Slacken ribbed V-belt tensioner
- 14. Attach right engine splash guard • Tighten 3x bolts • Install body-bound rivet
- 15. Lower vehicle
