How to Check the Timing Opel Meriva A

Remove

  1. 1. Detach front toothed belt cover (top)
  2. 2. Raise vehicle all the way
  3. 3. Remove right engine splash guard
  4. 4. Set engine to "TDC" • Set torsional vibration balancer in direction of engine rotation to "1st cylinder TDC" (mark 1)
  1. 5. Lower vehicle all the way
  2. 6. Lower vehicle all the way
  3. 7. Insert KM-6340 into camshaft timing gears • Attach KM-6340-Left (1) to intake camshaft sprocket • Insert KM-6340-Right (2)
  4. 8. Timing, Check • Marks (3) on KM-6340 must be aligned – If the timing marks are not aligned - see operation "Timing, Adjust"
  1. 9. Raise vehicle all the way
  2. 10. Check the position of the crankshaft • Mark on torsional vibration damper must be aligned with the mark on the lower section of the toothed belt cover

Install

  1. 11. Install right engine splash guard
  2. 12. Lower vehicle all the way
  3. 13. Remove KM-6340
  4. 14. Attach front toothed belt cover (top)
