How to Adjust the Timing Opel Meriva A

Remove

  1. 1. Remove front toothed belt cover (lower)
  2. 2. Remove KM-6625 • Remove screw connection
  1. 3. Move engine to "TDC" • Screw in bolt for torsional vibration damper • Move crankshaft in direction of engine rotation to the "1st cylinder ignition TDC position" (III)
  2. 4. Lower vehicle
  3. 5. Secure camshaft sprockets in place with KM-6340 • Position the camshaft sprockets so that the marks (arrows) are aligned • Insert KM-6340-Left (I) • Insert KM-6340-Right (II)
  4. 6. Remove toothed belt • Mark running direction. • Tension toothed belt tension roller clockwise with Allen key and secure in place with KM-6333 (IV) – Remove toothed belt.

Install

  1. 7. Install toothed belt • Position toothed belt – Place toothed belt in position on exhaust camshaft sprocket – Place toothed belt in position on intake camshaft sprocket – Guide toothed belt past the tension roller and guide roller and place in position on toothed belt drive gear – Apply tension to the toothed belt tension roller and remove KM-6333

Note. Note running direction.

  1. 8. Remove KM-6340
  2. 9. Raise vehicle
  3. 10. Turn the crankshaft 720° • 2 turns in the direction of engine rotation • Move toothed belt drive gear to mark for cylinder 1 ignition TDC (arrows)
  1. 11. Lower vehicle
  2. 12. Secure camshaft sprockets in place with KM-6340 • Insert KM-6340-Left (1) • Insert KM-6340-Right (2)

Note. Marks (3) on KM-6340 must be aligned - if not, remove toothed belt and re-position it

  1. 13. Remove KM-6340
  2. 14. Raise vehicle
  3. 15. Insert KM-6625 • Tighten screw connection
  4. 16. Attach front toothed belt cover (lower)
