Replace Valve Stem Seals Opel Corsa D

Remove

  1. 1. Remove camshaft housing
  2. 2. Remove 16x roller cam followers with hydraulic valve lifters

Note. Set aside in the order removed!

  1. 3. Remove 2x camshaft housing centring pin (1)
  1. 4. Attach MKM-6086 • Adjust 2x supports MKM-6086-6 (1) – Set the support heads at the outside of the support bases – Tighten 2x bolts • Slide the joint MKM-6086-8 (2) onto the mounting shaft MKM-6086-4 (3) – Slide 2x supports MKM-6086-6 onto the mounting shaft MKM-6086-4 • Install both supports with the mounting shaft on the cylinder head – Screw in 4x bolts

Important. Attach the support MKM-6086-6 on the timing side as far as the stop in the timing case. Note bolt length - the holes are blind.

  1. 5. Attach tool EN-46782 together with tool EN-46783 (2) and tool MKM-6086-17 (1) to cylinder 1. • Screw in stud bolt (5) • Insert tool EN-46782 with seal and cylinder 2 injector (4) – Tighten nut (6) 20 Nm
  1. 6. Attach arm rocker • Attach arm rocker MKM-6086-7 (3) together with adapter MKM-6086-12 (2) and removal head MKM-6086-11 (4) to joint MKM-6086-8 (1)

Important. Secure compressed air supply

  1. 7. Remove 2x intake valve spring from cylinder 1 • Carefully press down on valve spring with rocker arm MKM-6086-7 • Remove 2x split cotter (arrow) • Remove valve head and valve springs

Important. Removal head must be vertical above the valve stem.

  1. 8. Replace 2x valve stem seals • Remove with KM-840 (1) • Fit new valve shank seal (3) onto valve shank (2) • Drive in as far as the stop with EN-46779 (4)

Note. Moisten new valve shank seals with oil

  1. 9. Complete the mounting head MKM-6086-100-1 • Assemble the mounting head, consisting of mounting (1), securing sleeve (2), thrust piece MKM-6086-13 (3), spring (4), screwed joint (5) and lever mount MKM-6086-12 (6)

Note. Observe the manufacturer's instructions.

  1. 10. Install 2x intake valve spring on cylinder 1 • Insert valve springs and valve heads • Insert split cotters in mounting head MKM-6086-100-1 (1) – Slide the tensioning sleeve (2) toward the rocker mount – Insert valve cotters – Slide the tensioning sleeve toward the valve • Attach assembly head to lever arm

Important. Insert split cotters with the narrow part facing the valve.

Important. Secure compressed air supply

  1. 11. Install valve cotters • Carefully press the valve spring downward (arrow) • Check the seating of the split cotters (2)

Important. The mounting head (1) must be vertical above the valve stem. The split cotters (2) must engage audibly.

Important. Do not try this a second time without checking that both split cotters are seated in the mounting head.

  1. 12. Attach the removal head MKM-6086-11 to the adapter MKM-6086-12
  2. 13. Attach the adapter (1) to the hole (2)
  1. 14. Remove 2x exhaust valve spring from cylinder 1
  2. 15. Fit new valve shank seal
  3. 16. Attach the mounting head MKM-6086-100-1 to the adapter MKM-6086-12
  4. 17. Install 2x exhaust valve spring on cylinder 1 • Attach mounting head
  5. 18. Attach EN-46783 to cylinder 2. • Interrupt compressed air feed • Remove EN-46782 with injector from cylinder 2 – Unscrew nut • Install EN-46782 in cylinder 2 – Insert cylinder 1 with injector – Tighten nut 20 Nm • Supply compressed air to cylinder 2
  6. 19. Remove 2x exhaust valve spring from cylinder 1 • Attach removal head
  7. 20. Fit new valve shank seal
  8. 21. Install 2x exhaust valve spring on cylinder 1 • Attach mounting head
  9. 22. Transfer adapter
  10. 23. Remove 2x intake valve spring from cylinder 2 • Attach removal head
  11. 24. Fit new valve shank seal
  12. 25. Install 2x intake valve spring on cylinder 2 • Attach mounting head
  13. 26. Attach EN-46783 to cylinder 3. • Interrupt compressed air feed • Remove EN-46782 with injector from cylinder 1 – Unscrew nut – Unscrew stud bolt • Screw in stud bolt • Install EN-46782 with seal in cylinder 3 – Insert together with cylinder 4 injector – Tighten nut 20 Nm • Supply compressed air to cylinder 3

Important. Note bolt length - the holes are blind.

  1. 27. Remove 2x intake valve spring from cylinder 3 • Attach removal head
  2. 28. Fit new valve shank seal
  3. 29. Install 2x intake valve spring on cylinder 3 • Attach mounting head
  4. 30. Transfer adapter
  5. 31. Remove 2x exhaust valve spring from cylinder 3 • Attach removal head
  6. 32. Fit new valve shank seal
  7. 33. Install 2x exhaust valve spring on cylinder 3 • Attach mounting head
  8. 34. Attach EN-46783 to cylinder 4 • Interrupt compressed air feed • Remove EN-46782 with injector from cylinder 4 – Unscrew nut • Install EN-46782 in cylinder 4 – Insert cylinder 3 with injector – Tighten nut 20 Nm • Supply compressed air to cylinder 4
  9. 35. Remove 2x exhaust valve spring from cylinder 4 • Attach removal head
  10. 36. Fit new valve shank seal
  11. 37. Install 2x exhaust valve spring on cylinder 4 • Attach mounting head
  12. 38. Transfer adapter
  13. 39. Remove 2x intake valve spring from cylinder 4 • Attach removal head
  14. 40. Fit new valve shank seal
  15. 41. Install 2x intake valve spring on cylinder 4 • Attach mounting head
  16. 42. Remove EN-46783 from cylinder 4 • Interrupt compressed air feed • Remove EN-46782 with injector from cylinder 3 – Unscrew nut • Unscrew stud bolt
  17. 43. Remove MKM-6086 • Unscrew 4x bolts

Install

  1. 44. Insert 2x camshaft housing centring pin
  2. 45. Insert 16x roller cam follower

Note. Note removal sequence!

  1. 46. Install camshaft housing
