Replace One Piston And/or Con-Rod Opel Corsa D

Remove

  1. 1. Remove piston with con-rod

Important. Do not damage the piston and con-rod. Use protective jaws

  1. 2. Detach piston from con-rod • Clamp piston (1) with con-rod (3) in vice • Remove 2x remaining ring (2) from piston pin • Remove piston pin (4) – Slide piston pin manually out of piston and con-rod • Remove piston

Install

Important. When assembling the piston and con-rod, note the cutout in the piston (2) and identification mark (1) on the con-rod

  1. 3. Attach piston to con-rod • Slide piston pin into piston • Set piston with piston pin on con-rod • Slide piston pin through eye in con-rod into piston

Note. Moisten piston pin with engine oil

Note. The grooves for the piston pin retaining rings must be visible.

  1. 4. Insert 2x piston pin retaining ring in piston

Note. Ring gap must be positioned in the area of dimension I (maximum 30° )

  1. 5. Set piston ring gap

Note. Displace piston ring gap by 120° .

  1. 6. Remove piston with con-rod from vice
  2. 7. Install piston with con-rod
