The intake manifold on the new Z 17 DTR diesel engine is in two parts. The fastening bolts between the upper and lower sections of the intake manifold must not be separated. It is replaced as one module.
In front of the intake manifold is a new intake pipe. To ensure better cylinder charging, webs have been installed in the intake pipe which swirl the intake air.
The EGR valve familiar from the Z 30 DT diesel engine is installed on the intake pipe.

• Service: The vacuum unit for the switchover valves cannot be replaced separately in service operations and must be replaced as one module with the intake manifold.
