Notes for Trouble-shooting:

· Ignition ON

· Remove oxygen sensor wiring harness plug

· Measure voltage between oxygen sensor plug P32/Ter. C and Ter. A on control unit side using multimeter and Adapter Cable KM-609-1 5 from Electronic-Kit I KM-609

Nominal Value:

0.4 to 0.5 V

Cause of Fault:

· Interruption or short circuit from

- Control unit K61/Ter.28 to oxygen sensor P32/Ter. C

- Control unit K61/Ter.10 to ground

- Oxygen sensor P32/Ter.A to ground

Continued

· Adapt multimeter with Adapter Lead KM-609-1 4 and KM-609-1 5 from Electronic-Kit I KM-609 to oxygen sensor plug connection

· Allow engine to run at 1200 to 1600 rpm with coolant temperature 85 °C/185 °F

· Measure voltage at Ter. C to Ter. A with engine running

Voltage change between

0.1 and 0.9 V

· If loop closes only very slowly:

- Oxygen sensor heating defective

- Lead interruption from K68ITer.4 to oxygen sensor P32/Ter. B

- Lead interruption from oxygen sensor P32/Ter. A to ground

· Oxygen sensor P32 defective

· Mixture constantly too rich (see test step 27)

· Mixture constantly too lean (see test step 27)

· Control unit K61 defective

· Measure voltage at Ter. B to Ter. A
11.5 to 13.5 V

· Oxygen sensor heating defective

· Lead interruption from

- K68/Ter.4 to oxygen sensor P32/Ter.B

- Oxygen sensor P32/Ter.A to ground
