Note:

The Hall sensor on the camshaft is used for cylinder recognition. lt informs the control unit of the crankshaft revolution on which cylinder "1" ignites. The control unit needs this information for accurate fuel injection and for adaptive knock control. If the Hall sensor malfunctions, the control unit assumes a random point in time for injector actuation.

A malfunction of the Hall sensor causes cold starting problems and increased fuel consumption.
