Before trouble-shooting, check that the correct coding plug has been installed in the relevant vehicle type and is coded to position A.

Ignition ON

· Remove ignition coding plug 4.9 V · Lead interruption from:

- Ignition coding plug to

control unit Ter. 46

Measure voltage at

coding plug · Short circuit to ground of ignition coding

plug cable to control unit Ter. 46

· Check resistance at See nominal values above · Ignition coding plug defective

If nominal values are attained · Control unit defective

Note:

If ignition coding plug is at position B, this may be indicated by an increased idle speed or a change in the mixture correction values.
