Replace Engine Oil Level Sensor Opel Corsa D

Remove

  1. 1. Open bonnet
  2. 2. Disconnect battery • Detach ground connection from ground terminal – Undo nut
  3. 3. Raise vehicle by its full height
  4. 4. Place collecting basin underneath.
  5. 5. Drain engine oil • Unscrew drain bolt • Tighten drain bolt
  6. 6. Detach wiring harness for catalytic converter control oxygen sensor (3) • Disconnect wiring harness plug (1) • Unclip 4x wiring harness (2)
  1. 7. Remove front exhaust pipe • Detach front exhaust pipe (1) from catalytic converter – Unscrew 3x nuts (2) • Attach flex pipe fixing tool
  1. 8. Remove cross brace • Unscrew 2x bolts
  2. 9. Attach exhaust system to the underbody on the left side with a tensioning belt • Use a second person • Remove 4x damper ring
  3. 10. Remove right engine splash guard
  4. 11. Separate wiring harness plug for dynamic oil level check
  5. 12. Detach oil pan • Remove 3x bolts (arrows) from transmission • Remove 13x bolts (arrows) from engine block
  1. 13. Prise off oil pan evenly with suitable tool

Note. To prevent damage to the oil screen, it is necessary to ensure that the oil screen (1) remains in the oil pan. If it is left hanging on the cylinder block, push the oil screen into the oil pan using a screwdriver.

  1. 14. Remove oil baffle plate (1) • Unscrew 2x bolts (2)

Note. If the oil baffle plate is firmly stuck: carefully prise off with installing bar

  1. 15. Remove oil level sensor • Detach retaining plate (1) in direction of arrow – Remove connecting plug (2) towards inside • Detach oil level sensor (3) – Unscrew 2x bolts (4)
  1. 16. Remove oil pressure regulating valve • Unscrew closure bolt (1)
  2. 17. Remove spring and piston
  3. 18. Clean components
  4. 19. Check parts
  5. 20. Clean the thread

Install

  1. 21. Install oil pressure regulating valve • Install spring and piston together with closure bolt in pump module and tighten 21 Nm
  2. 22. Install oil level sensor • Replace sealing ring • Tighten 2x bolt 8 Nm • Insert connecting plug • Attach wiring harness • Attach retaining plate
  3. 23. Install oil baffle plate • Tighten 2x bolt 8 Nm
  4. 24. Clean sealing surfaces.
  5. 25. Check oil screen (1) position
  1. 26. Apply liquid gasket • Apply a bead of silicone sealing compound (grey) approx. 2 mm wide onto the joint surfaces (arrows) – Apply a bead of silicone sealing compound (grey) approx. 2.5 mm thick (dimension I) and approx. 3.5 mm thick (dimension II) in the area of the rear crankshaft bearing cap – Also apply a bead of silicone sealing compound (grey) approx. 3 mm thick (dimension III) to the oil intake pipe connection

Note. The assembly time including the torque check must be no longer than 10 min•

  1. 27. Install oil pan • Screw in 18x bolts • Tighten 15x bolt on cylinder block 10 Nm • Tighten 3x bolt on transmission 40 Nm
  2. 28. Connect wiring harness plug for dynamic oil level check
  3. 29. Install right engine splash guard
  4. 30. Attach exhaust system • Use a second person • Undo tensioning belt • Attach 4x damper ring
  5. 31. Attach cross brace • Tighten 2x bolts
  6. 32. Attach front exhaust pipe to catalytic converter • Detach flex pipe fixing tool • Tighten 3x new nut 25 Nm

Note. Where necessary, detach and twist additional catalytic converter until exhaust system can be installed

  1. 33. Lower vehicle by its full height
  2. 34. Top up engine oil
  3. 35. Connect battery
  4. 36. Program volatile memories
  5. 37. Close bonnet
