How to Replace the Ribbed V-Belt (Without Air Conditioning) Opel Corsa D

Remove

  1. 1. Open bonnet
  2. 2. Remove air cleaner housing
  3. 3. Raise vehicle by its full height
  4. 4. Remove lower engine compartment cover / splash guard
  5. 5. Unhook ribbed V-belt • Mark direction of rotation • Tension the ribbed V-belt tensioner using EN-48488 (1) in the direction of the arrow • Insert KM-955-2 (2) • Relieve tension on ribbed V-belt tensioner
  1. 6. Lower vehicle by its full height
  2. 7. Attach engine at corresponding engine transport shackle to engine crane (1).
  1. 8. Remove engine damping block, right hand side • Unscrew 5 bolts (1) and (2)
  1. 9. Lower engine • Insert a plastic or wood wedge (1) between the chassis and the engine damping block support • Lower the chain of the engine hoist slowly until the lower bolt of the engine damping block support is accessible from below

Important. Ensure that the chassis paint is not damaged.

  1. 10. Raise vehicle by half its height
  2. 11. Loosen lower engine damping block support • Unscrew bolt (1)
  1. 12. Lower vehicle by half its height
  2. 13. Raise engine • Rotate the hexagon of the chain case until the upper bolts of the engine damping block support are accessible • Remove plastic or wood part
  3. 14. In the version with air conditioning: loosen the coolant lines (1) • Unclip from 3 brackets (2), (3) and (4) • Rotate bracket (2) by 90°

Important. Ensure that the chassis paint is not damaged.

  1. 15. Detach engine damping block support from timing case • Unscrew 2x bolts – Insert rags (1) • Take out support upwards
  1. 16. Remove ribbed-V-belt

Install

  1. 17. Attach top support for engine damping block • Apply the ribbed V-belt on the coolant pump belt pulley • Tighten 2x bolts – Tightening torque 60 Nm – Place rags between the chassis and ratchet or torque spanner.

Important. Ensure that the chassis paint is not damaged.

  1. 18. Lower engine • Insert a plastic or wood wedge between the chassis and the engine damping block support • Lower engine crane

Important. Ensure that the chassis paint is not damaged.

  1. 19. Raise vehicle by its full height
  2. 20. Fasten lower engine damping block support • Tighten bolt – Tightening torque 60 Nm
  3. 21. Install ribbed V-belt • Position ribbed V-belt • Apply tension to ribbed V-belt tensioner with EN-48488 • Remove KM-955-2 • Relieve tension on ribbed V-belt tensioner
  4. 22. Lower vehicle by its full height
  5. 23. Raise engine to normal height • Remove plastic or wood part
  6. 24. Fit engine damping block to body • Tighten 3x bolts – Tightening torque 60 Nm
  7. 25. Attach engine damping block to engine damping block support • Tighten 2x bolts – Tightening torque 80 Nm + 45°

Note. Use new bolts.

  1. 26. Detach engine from engine crane
  2. 27. Install air cleaner housing • Attach 2x clamps • Fix wiring harness plug – Clip in cable
  3. 28. Close bonnet
