Detaching and Attaching Components, Cylinder Head Opel Corsa D

Remove

  1. 1. Detach intake manifold from cylinder head • Unscrew 6x bolts (1) • Remove seal • Clean sealing surfaces.
  1. 2. Detach chain tensioner from cylinder head • Unscrew 2x bolts
  2. 3. Detach oil pressure switch from cylinder head • Take out seal ring
  3. 4. Detach 3x engine transport shackle • Unscrew 3x bolts
  4. 5. Detach cooling water connecting piece • Unscrew 3x bolts (1)

Note. Note seal

  1. 6. Remove 4 spark plugs with KM-194-E
  2. 7. Remove exhaust camshaft • Note marking before dismantling camshaft bearing cap – Marking, exhaust camshaft = 1 – 3 – 5 – 7 – 9 • Slacken camshaft bearing caps in stages 1/2 to 1 turn • Unscrew 10x bolt • Take out camshaft bearing caps – Set aside in the correct order • Remove exhaust camshaft

Note. When releasing the camshaft bearing caps, ensure that the camshaft is seated evenly on the bearing seats.

  1. 8. Remove intake camshaft • Note marking before dismantling camshaft bearing cap – Marking, intake camshaft = 2 – 4 – 6 – 8 – 10 • Slacken camshaft bearing caps in stages 1/2 to 1 turn • Unscrew 10x bolt • Take out camshaft bearing caps – Set aside in the correct order • Remove intake camshaft

Note. When releasing the camshaft bearing caps, ensure that the camshaft is seated evenly on the bearing seats

  1. 9. Take roller cam followers and hydraulic valve lifters out of cylinder head • Set roller cam followers and hydraulic valve lifters aside in order – Pay attention to assignment

Install

  1. 10. Clean all removed parts
  2. 11. Insert hydraulic valve lifters and roller cam followers in cylinder head • Coat sliding surfaces of the hydraulic valve lifers and roller cam followers with clean engine oil • Pay attention to assignment
  3. 12. Coat camshaft bearing with MoS 2 sliding paste (grey)
  4. 13. Install intake camshaft • Coat sliding surfaces with MoS2 lubricating paste • Insert intake camshaft • Insert camshaft bearing caps • Install camshaft bearing cover – Tighten 10x bolt 8 Nm

Note. Insert camshaft in such a way that the cams of cylinder 1 are set at "TDC of combustion stroke" (cams point outwards)

Important. Note mark and allocation

Note. Tighten camshaft bearing caps in stages, working in a spiral from inside to outside

  1. 14. Install exhaust camshaft • Coat sliding surfaces with MoS2 lubricating paste • Insert exhaust camshaft • Insert camshaft bearing caps • Install camshaft bearing cover – Tighten 10x bolt 8 Nm

Note. Insert camshaft in such a way that the cams of cylinder 1 are set at "TDC of combustion stroke" (cams point outwards)

Important. Note mark and allocation

Note. Tighten camshaft bearing caps in stages, working in a spiral from inside to outside

  1. 15. Install spark plugs in cylinder head using KM-194-E 25 Nm
  2. 16. Attach oil pressure switch to cylinder head 20 Nm • Use new seal ring
  3. 17. Attach chain tensioner to cylinder head • Tighten 2x bolt 8 Nm
  4. 18. Attach intake manifold to cylinder head • Insert 4x new seal rings • Tighten 6x bolt 10 Nm

Note. Tighten bolts from inside to outside, crosswise

  1. 19. Attach 3x engine transport shackle • Tighten 3x bolt 20 Nm
  2. 20. Attach cooling water connecting piece • Tighten 3x bolt 8 Nm

Note. Use new seal
