Loss of coolant and subsequently engine overheating.

Cause:

Radiator inlet hose chafes at thealternator drive pulley.

Production Solution:

Remedy:

Perform instruction below to prevent repeated failures.

Operation:

If the hose has been damaged by chafing, then the hose should be replaced and the new hose positioned according to illustration T1829.

Ensure there is a minimum clearance of 30 mm between radiator inlet hose and alternator drive pulley.

X Clearance: 30 mm

This instruction should also be observed during normal service repairs when the removal of the engine ventilation hose is required.
