Remove
Transmission – see operation "Transmission Remove and Install" in group K.
Bonnet – see operation "Bonnet Remove and Install" in group A.
Battery from carrier.
Engine coolant - drain.
Remove
Radiator – see operation "Radiator Remove and Install".
Air cleaner cover intake hose and ducting from air cleaner and turbocharger.
Remove
Throttle cable fuel supply and return hoses from fuel injection pump.
Engine earth cable.
Alternator and engine harness.
Remove
Vacuum hoses of quick warming-up and EGR systems from engine units.
Vacuum hoses from vacuum pump.
Remove
Hoses from power steering pump.
Heater hoses at connectors at rear of engine compartment.
Remove
On models with air conditioning compressor from support bracket – remove bolts harness connector and place compressor on battery carrier (do not disconnect or drain refrigerant lines).
Ensure engine is adequately supported
Remove
Engine damping blocks from chassis brackets - bolts.
Engine from vehicle - lift engine carefully with front of engine higher than rear take care not to damage fuel pipes brake pipes etc.
Install
Engine to vehicle – lift engine carefully with front of engine higher than rear take care not to damage fuel pipes brake pipes etc.
Engine damping blocks to chassis brackets - bolts 41 Nm.
Install
Hoses to power steering pump - pressure hose nut 20 Nm suction hose bolts 21 Nm.
Heater hoses to connectors at rear of engine compartments.
Air conditioning compressor to support bracket - bolts 59 Nm harness connector (on models with this option).
Adjust
Power steering drive belt - see operation "Drive Belt Tension Check and Adjust".
Install
Vacuum hose to vacuum pump.
Vacuum hoses of quick warming-up and EGR system to engine units.
Install
Alternator and engine harness.
Engine earth cable.
Throttle cable fuel supply and return hoses to fuel injection pump.
Install
Air cleaner cover intake hose and ducting to air cleaner and turbocharger.
Radiator – see operation "Radiator Remove and Install".
Install
Bonnet – see operation "Bonnet Remove and Install" in group A.
Transmission – see operation "Transmission Remove and Install" in group K.
Install
Battery to carrier.
Engine coolant – refill.
Power steering fluid – refill and bleed.
Bleed fuel system.
