Remove
Remove front toothed belt cover – see operation "Front Toothed Belt Cover, Remove and Install".
Inspect
At fastening bolt of toothed belt drive gear, turn crankshaft in engine rotational direction to "1st Cylinder TDC " (marking 2).
Simultaneously, the notches on the camshaft sprockets must align with the marks (1) on the cylinder head cover (it must be possible to insert Locking Tool KM-853 in this position). If timing is not correctly adjusted – see operation "Timing, Adjust". Turn crankshaft slowly and uniformly.
Install
Install front toothed belt cover – see operation "Front Toothed Belt Cover, Remove and Install".
