Engine Control Unit, Y 22 Xe
The engine control unit (1) in the Y 22 XE engine is of a composite design, as in the X 20 XEV engine of the Astra–G, and is fastened to the relay box with a bracket. The engine control unit has 2 separate plug connections for each 64–pin compact plug.
The principal features of the composite–design control units are:
- Compact design
- Installation in engine compartment possible
- Separate wiring harness plugs for instrument panel and engine wiring harness connections
The composite–design engine control units enable a compact design which is insensitive to impact, vibration and temperature. It is therefore also possible to install the control units in the engine compartment, enabling shorter routing of the wiring harness. The engine control unit has separate wiring harness plugs for the instrument panel and engine wiring harnesses. This design allows the body wiring harness to be decoupled easily from the engine control unit, ensuring quicker removal and installation of the engine.
