Replace Oil Baffle Plate Opel Meriva A

DOHC Diesel Engine 3 illustrations ~250 words

Remove

  1. 1. Remove catalytic converter
  2. 2. Place collecting basin underneath
  3. 3. Drain engine oil • Open drain bolt (1) on oil pan • Collect engine oil • Tighten drain bolt 20 Nm
  4. 4. Detach transmission bracket (2) • Unscrew 7x bolt

Note. Note different bolt lengths

  1. 5. Remove oil pan (2) • Unscrew 14x bolt • Unscrew 2x nut • Disconnect residual oil quantity sensor wiring harness plug • Disconnect carefully with KM-J-37228 (2) from cylinder block base plate
  1. 6. Detach oil baffle plate • Unscrew 6 bolts
  2. 7. Cleaning work

Install

  1. 8. Attach oil baffle plate • Tighten 6x bolts 9 Nm
  2. 9. Unscrew 2x stud bolts from timing case

Note. Replace stud bolts with bolts when attaching the oil pan

  1. 10. Clean sealing surfaces. • Base plate of cylinder block and oil pan
  2. 11. Apply sealing compound

Note. Apply a bead of silicone sealing compound (grey) to the oil pan sealing surface

Important. The oil pan must be fitted within 10 minutes of applying the silicone sealing compound

  1. 12. Install oil pan • Attach to base plate of cylinder block – Tighten 14x bolt 9 Nm • Attach to timing case – Tighten 2x nut 9 Nm • Connect wiring harness plug of engine oil level sensor
  2. 13. Install transmission bracket • Attach to base plate of cylinder block – Tighten 4x bolts 30 Nm • Attach to transmission – Tighten 2x bolt 40 Nm

Note. Note different bolt lengths

  1. 14. Install catalytic converter
