Replace Left Engine Damping Block Opel Astra H

Remove

1. 1. Open bonnet
2. 2. Raise vehicle by its full height
3. 3. Detach the lower engine cover and right engine splash guard

4. 4. Fit KM-6001-A • Detach front right bracket (1) • Insert KM-6001-A • Attach front right bracket • Insert journals (4) and (5) in guide holes in front axle body • Tighten 2x guide rails – Tighten 3x bolted connections • Adjust support bearings (2) and (3)

Note. Attaching KM-6001-A guarantees perfect alignment of the drive unit with the front axle body

Note. The guide journals must be seated free from play in the support bearings

5. 5. Lower vehicle by half its height
6. 6. Release left wheel housing inner panelling (1) • Remove body-bound rivet (2)

7. 7. Detach engine damping block from side member • Unscrew nut (1)

8. 8. Lower vehicle by half its height
9. 9. Disconnect battery • Detach ground connection from ground terminal – Slacken nut
10. 10. Remove battery • Detach positive terminal (3) from positive pole – Slacken nut • Remove bracket 1) – Unscrew bolt (2)

11. 11. Remove battery support. • Remove pre-glow system control unit (4) • Remove wiring harness plug (3) • Unclip coolant hose bracket (5) • Detach wiring harness – Undo cable tie (1) – Unclip 2x brackets • Unscrew 3x bolts (2)

12. 12. Detach left engine damping block from support • Unscrew 3x bolts (1)
13. 13. Remove left engine damping block • Unclip clutch pressure line • Unscrew 4x bolts

14. 14. Detach engine damping block bracket (1) from engine damping block • Clamp in vice • Unscrew bolt

Install

15. 15. Attach engine damping block bracket to engine damping block • Tighten bolt 55 Nm • Remove from vice
16. 16. Install left engine damping block • Tighten 4x bolt 25 Nm • Clip in clutch pressure line
17. 17. Attach left engine damping block to support • Tighten 3x bolt 80 Nm
18. 18. Install battery holder • Tighten 3x bolts • Attach wiring harness – Fit cable ties, clip on 2x brackets • Attach pre-glow system control device • Attach wiring harness plug • Clip on coolant hose bracket
19. 19. Install battery • Install bracket – Tighten bolt • Insert battery insulation • Attach positive connection to positive terminal – Tighten nut • Attach positive cable to positive terminal – Tighten bolt
20. 20. Connect battery • Attach ground connection to ground terminal
21. 21. Raise vehicle by half its height
22. 22. Fit engine damping block to longitudinal beam • Tighten bolt 20 Nm
23. 23. Fit left wheel housing inner panelling • Fasten body-bound rivet
24. 24. Raise vehicle by half its height
25. 25. Remove KM-6001-A
26. 26. Remove KM-6397
27. 27. Install lower engine cover and right engine splash guard
28. 28. Lower vehicle by its full height
29. 29. Program volatile memories
30. 30. Close bonnet
