Check Crankshaft End Play Opel Astra H

Note. Crankshaft removed

Install

1. 1. Insert 5x crankshaft bearing shell in cylinder block

Note. Pay attention to assignment

2. 2. Insert wear rings • Coat with engine oil • Oil grooves point outwards

Important. Check installation position

3. 3. Insert crankshaft • Coat crankshaft journal with engine oil

Note. Ensure that the bearing shells and wearing rings are correctly seated

Important. Note installation position. Lug points to intake side

4. 4. Install 5x crankshaft bearing cap with crankshaft bearing shell • Tighten 10x bolt in the order shown (1 - 10)

Note. It is not necessary to replace the bolts when aligning the crankshaft

5. 5. Attach MKM-571-B • Install MKM-571-B in bracket • Attach bracket to cylinder block on the transmission side

Measure

6. 6. Adjust MKM-571-B • Position plunger on crankshaft flange • Attach MKM-571-B with pre-tensioning • Move MKM-571-B to "0"
7. 7. Measure longitudinal play of crankshaft • Move crankshaft • Read off test value

Note. Repeat measurement several times. Permissible crankshaft longitudinal play: 0.049 - 0.211 mm

8. 8. Remove MKM-571-B

Remove

9. 9. Remove 5x crankshaft bearing cap with crankshaft bearing shell • Release 10x bolt in the order shown (1 - 10)

Note. Note marking on crankshaft bearing cap

10. 10. Remove crankshaft

Note. Place crankshaft on wooden blocks

11. 11. Remove 5x crankshaft bearing shell from cylinder block
12. 12. Remove wearing rings
