Connecting Rods and Bearings Replace

Tools Required

KM-470-B Angular Torque Gauge

Disassemble

1. Remove the piston assembly. Refer to Piston and Rings Replace .

Important: Check and confirm the connecting rod bearing sequence. Note: Use extreme care to avoid scratches or damage to the connecting rod bearings.

2. Remove the snap rings.
3. Remove the piston pin.
4. Separate the connecting rod from the piston.
5. Separate the connecting rod cap bearings.

Assembly

1. Install the connecting rod cap bearings to the connecting rod. Note: When assembling bearings .make sure the tongue on the bearing is lined up with the groove in the cap and connecting rod. Note: Make sure the bearing cap is assembled to the connecting rod in the correct orientation.

2. Install the connecting rod to the piston.
3. Install the piston pin and snap rings.

4. Install the piston assembly. Refer to Piston and Rings Replace .
