Trouble-shooting: Nominal Value: Cause of Fault:

(If nominal values are not attained)

· Ignition "ON" TV closed: 1.1 volts · Control unit defective

Measure voltage (20 V/DC) at TV open: 11.2 volts

K 100 Ter. B 5 TV pot.: OK

Slowly open throttle valve.

· Measure voltage at TV closed: 1.1 volts · Connection lead from control unit K 100

plug X 27 Ter. "H" TV open : 11.2 volts Ter. "B 5" to transmission control unit K 85

Slowly open throttle valve. TV pot.: OK plug X 27 Ter. "H" defective

· Request trouble code from transmission No trouble code · See Automatic Transmission

control unit. AF 14/20 Checking Procedures

* Check connection from transmission control Passage way, i.e. < 1 ohms · Connection lead interrupted or

unit K 85 plug X 26 Ter. "G" to Multec No short circuit to ground short circuit to ground

control unit K 100 Ter. "D7" for

passage way and short circuit to ground

* Disconnect transmission control unit and Multec control unit from wiring harness.

measure voltage at engine See Automatic Transmission AF 14/20

control unit K 100 Ter. "D 7" Checking Procedures

Constant speed --------> > 10 volts

Shifting --------> < 9.5 volts

· If the display on the multimeter · Engine control unit defective

is OK, then TECH 1 display

Constant speed --------> INACTIVE

Shifting --------> ACTIVE

* Connect transmission control unit and Multec control unit to wiring harness.
