alternation

Let engine run at 1200 to 1600 min¯¹ for 1 min. between 0.1 to 0.9 V

· Mixture constantly too rich (UL > 0.6 V)

Coolant temperature > 85 °C/185 °F or too lean (UL < 0.3 V)

Connect Adapter Cable KM-609

Check voltage between oxygen sensor and

ground using Multimeter with engine running

Mixture constantly too rich

(UL > 0.6 V)

· Check fuel pump pressure · Pressure regulator defective

Pressure in feed line 0.7 to 0.8 bar · Return line blocked/kinked

(10.15 to 11.6 lbf/in²)

Pressure in return line < 0.3 bar (4.35 lbf/in²) · Leaking injection valve (drips from valve)

· Interfering impulse

(observe tachometer)

· Active carbon canister or lines leaking (to check, remove vacuum lines )

· Temperature sensor P 30 defective (see test step 02)

· Intake manifold pressure sensor

or vacuum hose defective (see test step 03)

· Throttle valve potentiometer defective (see test step 04)

· Control unit defective

Mixture constantly too lean

(UL < 0.3 V)

· Check fuel pump pressure · Pressure regulator defective

Pressure in feed line 0.7 to 0.8 bar · Pre-filter dirty

(10.15 to 11.6 lbf/in²)

· Ground short K 57/Ter. D 7

· Intake manifold pressure sensor defective (see test step 03)

· Temperature sensor P 30 defective (see test step 02)

· Leak in intake system

· Leak in exhaust system

· Inferior fuel quality

· Injection valve defective or dirty

· Control unit defective
