Engine Management System - Multec Central Fuel Injection (C 16 NZ, C 16 NZ2, E16 NZ, X 16 SZ, C 18 NZ)

General Information

The Multec Central Fuel Injection is equipped with a self-diagnosis system.

Faults that occur are stored as "trouble codes" and can be read out from the engine telltale as a blink code or with the TECH 1 Hand Tester.

For more detailed information, including checks for the entire system - see Checking Procedures

"Opel/Vauxhall Multec Central Fuel Injection".

Use only the program memories (PROM) assigned to the vehicle.

Protect oxygen sensor from fuel and silicone. Do not clean or bring oxygen sensor in contact with fuel.

Do not apply underbody protection to catalytic converter or oxygen sensor or to areas in their immediate vicinity.

Leaks (dead air) in intake and exhaust systems - in front of the catalytic converter can cause incorrect measurements by the oxygen sensor.

Leaks in the fuel controlled canister purge system can cause irregular idling.

Before removing electrical/electronic components, disconnect ground lead from battery. Disconnecting the battery causes trouble codes present in the memory to be erased.
