Poor Engine Driveability

Jerking by partial throttle opening, poor performance, somtimes the engine stalls.

Cause:

The problem could be a sticking EGR-valve, caused by carbon deposition.

Production Solution:

As of the following breakpoints improved engine calibration has been introduced.

Remedy:

Diagnosis with TECH2:

Read out the trouble codes.

If no trouble code is set, read out the EGR-position-value by warm engine at idle.

If trouble code P1405 is set or the EGR-value is higher than 1,85V, the EGR-valve is probably defect.

-> Install new calibration(as of TIS CD-ROM 43 available) and replace EGR-valve.
