Checking component and wiring

Check if there is any refrigerant in the air conditioning (A/C).

HINT: If there is refrigerant in the A/C system there is probably a fault in the A/C pressure sensor.

Check air conditioning (A/C) system for damage and leakage.

Check cable between control module #A21 (#A21) and air conditioning (A/C) pressure sensor terminal 2 for an open-circuit according to Open-circuit, permanent faults , and a short-circuit to supply voltage according to Short-circuit to supply voltage. Permanent faults .

Check cable between control module #A58 (#A58) and air conditioning (A/C) pressure sensor terminal 3 for an open-circuit according to Open-circuit, permanent faults , and a short-circuit to supply voltage according to Short-circuit to supply voltage. Permanent faults .

Check the cable between the ignition's #50 and starter motor relay's #2 as well as between starter motor relay's #2 and the control module's #B23 for intermittent short-circuiting to voltage.

Checking components and wiring

Check the resistance of the air conditioning (A/C) relay. At +20 °C the resistance must be approximately 96 ohms between terminals #2 and #4. For the resistance values, see Component specifications .

Check the signal cable between control module terminal #B44 and air conditioning (A/C) relay terminal #4. Check the power supply between system relay terminal #3 and A/C relay terminal #2. Check for an open-circuit. Check for a short-circuit to ground.
