Checking wiring and components

Check canister purge (CP) valve resistance.

Check signal cable between control module #A9 (#A9) and canister purge (CP) valve terminal 2 and power supply between system relay terminal 3 and canister purge (CP) valve terminal 1 for an open-circuit according to Open-circuit, permanent faults .

Remedy as necessary.

HINT: Use an electrician's screwdriver with at least a 3 W bulb to determine whether the cable is short-circuited to supply voltage.

Checking wiring and terminals

Check that the fuel tank filler cap is correctly secured. Check that seal of the filler cap is intact.

Then check the hoses and the hose connectors at the EVAP canister. Check the EVAP canister shut-off valve. Check the fuel tank.

Remedy as necessary.

Carry out a quick test of the fuel tank system.

Check if there is any refrigerant in the air conditioning (A/C).

HINT: If there is refrigerant in the A/C system there is probably a fault in the A/C pressure sensor.
