Replace Knock Sensor Opel Astra H

Remove

1. 1. Open bonnet
2. 2. Disconnect battery • Detach earth connection – Slacken nut
3. 3. Raise vehicle by its full height
4. 4. Release and disconnect wiring harness plug of dynamic oil level check (1)
5. 5. Detach starter wiring harness • Unscrew 2x nut (arrows) • Undo cable tie

6. 6. Remove starter • Release and disconnect wiring harness plug of crankshaft pulse pick-up • Unscrew 2x bolts (1)

7. 7. Remove knock sensor (1) • Release and unplug wiring harness plug (2) • Unscrew bolt

8. 8. Clean contact surface

Install

9. 9. Attach knock sensor • Tighten bolt 23 Nm • Connect and lock wiring harness plug

Important. Note cleanliness of contact surfaces. Compliance with tightening torque is a must.

10. 10. Install starter • Tighten 2x bolt 40 Nm • Connect and lock wiring harness plug of crankshaft pulse pick-up
11. 11. Attach starter wiring harness • Tighten 2x nuts • Attach cable ties
12. 12. Connect and lock wiring harness plug of dynamic oil level check
13. 13. Lower vehicle by its full height
14. 14. Connect battery • Attach earth connection – Tighten nut
15. 15. Program volatile memories
16. 16. Close bonnet
