ABNORMAL NOISE OR KNOCKING

1. Check engine oil and coolant level.
2. Check for contaminated oil.
3. Check ignition timing (1.6L and 1.8L).
4. Check intake manifold vacuum. Vacuum should be more than 17.7 in. Hg at idle.
5. Check spark plugs.
6. Check engine compression.
7. Ensure fuel system pressure is correct.
8. Check for contaminated fuel.
