DTC P0122: TPS CIRCUIT MALFUNCTION Kia Sephia I рестайлинг

Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) circuit malfunction code may be set by

1. TPS malfunction.
2. Open circuit between PCM connector C254 terminal No. 8 and TPS terminal No. 1.
3. Short circuit to ground between PCM connector C254 terminal No. 11 and TPS terminal No. 3.
4. Short circuit to ground between PCM connector C254 terminal No. 5 and TPS terminal No. 4.

1. Check TPS and PCM connections. Repair as needed. Go to next step.
2. Check PCM pin voltage at connector C254 terminal No. 11. See «PIN VOLTAGE CHARTS»(ref-25101) article. If voltage is okay, go to next step. If voltage is out of specification go to step 4).
3. If voltage changes smoothly with throttle movement (no jumps or drops), go to step 7). If voltage does not change smoothly with throttle movement, replace TPS.
4. Disconnect TPS connector. Turn ignition on. Check voltage at TPS connector terminal No. 4. If 5 volts exists, go to next step. If 5 volts does not exist, repair open or short circuit to ground between PCM connector C254 terminal No. 5 and TPS connector terminal No. 4.
5. Check continuity between PCM connector C254 terminal No. 8 and TPS connector terminal No. 1. If continuity exists, go to next step. If continuity does not exist, repair or replace wiring.
6. Check continuity between TPS connector terminal No. 4 and PCM connector C254 terminal No. 5. If continuity exists, replace TPS. If continuity does not exist, repair or replace wiring.
7. Clear code. Recheck codes. If code returns, replace PCM. If code does not return, problem is intermittent.
