DTC P0500: VSS MALFUNCTION Kia Sephia I рестайлинг

Vehicle speed sensor (VSS) malfunction code may be set by

1. Speedometer assembly malfunction.
2. Open or short circuit between ignition switch and VSS.
3. Open or short circuit between speedometer sensor and ground.
4. Open or short circuit between speedometer and VSS.
5. Open or short circuit between VSS and PCM connector C248 terminal No. 7.

1. Check VSS and PCM connections. Repair as needed. Go to next step.
2. Check speedometer operation. Repair or replace speedometer or VSS as needed. Go to next step.
3. Check PCM pin voltage at connector C248 terminal No. 7. See «PIN VOLTAGE CHARTS»(ref-25101) article. If voltage is okay, go to step 5). If voltage is out of specification go to next step.
4. Check continuity between PCM connector C248 terminal No. 7 and speedometer assembly connector C229 terminal No. 13. See «WIRING DIAGRAMS»(ref-25088) article. If continuity exists, go to next step. if continuity does not exist, repair or replace speedometer or wiring as needed. Go to next step.
5. Clear code. Recheck codes. If code returns, replace PCM. If code does not return, problem is intermittent.
