EGR boost sensor solenoid valve open or short code may be set by
- EGR boost sensor solenoid valve malfunction.
- Open or short circuit between EGR boost sensor solenoid valve terminal No. 1 and main relay terminal No. 4.
- Open or short circuit between EGR boost sensor solenoid valve terminal No. 2 and PCM connector C249 terminal No. 19.
- Check PCM and EGR boost sensor solenoid valve connectors. Repair as needed. Go to next step.
- Check PCM pin voltage at connector C249 terminal No. 19. See «PIN VOLTAGE CHARTS»(ref-25101) article. If battery voltage exists, replace EGR boost sensor solenoid valve. If battery voltage does not exist, repair or replace wiring.
- Disconnect EGR boost sensor solenoid valve connector. Turn ignition on. Check voltage at EGR boost sensor solenoid valve connector terminal No. 1. If battery voltage exists, go to next step. If battery voltage does not exist, repair or replace wiring.
- Check continuity between EGR boost sensor solenoid valve terminal No. 2 and PCM connector C249 terminal No. 19. If continuity exists, go to next step. If continuity does not exist, repair or replace wiring.
- Check EGR boost sensor solenoid valve. See SOLENOIDS & SWITCHES in «SYSTEM/COMPONENT TESTS»(ref-25100) article. Replace as needed.
- Clear code. Test drive vehicle and recheck for codes. If code returns, replace PCM. If code does not return, problem is intermittent.
