DTC P1196: IGNITION SWITCH (START) OPEN OR SHORT Kia Sephia I рестайлинг

Ignition switch (START) open or short code may be set by

1. Starter malfunction.
2. Open or short circuit between starter terminal "S" and PCM connector C248 terminal No. 2.

1. Check starter and PCM connectors. Repair as needed. Go to next step.
2. Check PCM pin voltage at connector C248 terminal No. 2. See «PIN VOLTAGE CHARTS»(ref-25101) article. If voltage is correct, go to step 4). If voltage is out of specification, go to next step.
3. Disconnect starter connector. Check continuity between starter terminal "S" and PCM connector C248 terminal No. 2. If continuity exists, check starter and repair or replace as needed. If starter is okay, go to next step. If continuity does not exist, repair open wiring.
4. Clear code. Recheck codes. If code returns, replace PCM. If code does not return, problem is intermittent.
