Evaporative emission control system malfunction code may be set by

1. Purge solenoid valve.
2. Evaporative emission canister malfunction.
3. Two-way check valve malfunction.
4. Leaks or clogs in hoses connecting: Purge Solenoid Valve, Evaporative Emission Canister, Fuel Vapor Valve Intake Manifold, Two-Way Check Valve

1. Check PCM pin voltage at connector C211 terminal No. 23. See «PIN VOLTAGE CHARTS»(ref-25101) article. If voltage is within specifications, go to next step. If voltage not within specifications, check and repair purge solenoid valve as needed.
2. Check all hoses for leaks or clogs. Repair as needed. Go to next step.
3. Check evaporative emission canister. See FUEL EVAPORATION in «SYSTEM/COMPONENT TESTS»(ref-25100) article. Repair or replace as needed.
4. Check two-way check valve. See FUEL EVAPORATION in «SYSTEM/COMPONENT TESTS»(ref-25100) article. Repair or replace as needed.
5. Check rollover valve. See FUEL EVAPORATION in «SYSTEM/COMPONENT TESTS»(ref-25100) article. Repair or replace as needed.
6. Clear code. Recheck codes. If code returns, replace PCM. If code does not return, problem is intermittent.
