DTC P0108: MAP SENSOR VOLTAGE TOO HIGH Dodge Durango I

Note. For connector terminal ID, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION . For wiring diagram, see WIRING DIAGRAMS article.

Note. Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor voltage is monitored when engine speed is more than 400, Throttle Position (TP) sensor voltage is less than 1.13 volts and battery voltage is more than 10.4 volts. DTC may be stored in Powertrain Control Module (PCM) when PCM senses MAP sensor voltage is more than 4.88 volts when engine starts or with engine running for 2.2 seconds. Possible causes are: defective MAP sensor, defective PCM, or defective connectors or wiring.

  1. Start engine and allow engine to idle. Using scan tool, read MAP sensor voltage. If MAP sensor voltage is more than 4.6 volts, go to next step. If MAP sensor voltage is 4.6 volts or less, go to step 7.
  2. Shut engine off. Ensure ignition is off. Disconnect MAP sensor connector. On 4.7L, MAP sensor is located on front of intake manifold. (Схема №36) On 5.2L and 5.9L, MAP sensor is located on side of throttle body. (Схема №37) On all models, turn ignition on with engine off. Using voltmeter, check voltage at Dark Green/Red wire on MAP sensor connector. If voltage is 5.5 volts or less, go to next step. If voltage is more than 5.5 volts, repair short to voltage on Dark Green/Red wire between MAP sensor and PCM. PCM is located at passenger's side front corner of engine compartment on inner fender panel. Perform «TEST VER-5»(ref-9482-S35719050532000102700000).
  3. Turn ignition off. Ensure MAP sensor connector is still disconnected. Using ohmmeter, check resistance between Dark Green/Red wire and Violet/White wire on MAP sensor connector. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, go to next step. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair Dark Green/Red wire and Violet/White wire between MAP sensor and PCM as they are shorted together. PCM is located at passenger's side front corner of engine compartment on inner fender panel. Perform «TEST VER-5»(ref-9482-S35719050532000102700000).
  4. Ensure ignition is off. Connect jumper wire between Black/Light Blue wire and Dark Green/Red wire on MAP sensor connector. Turn ignition on with engine off. Using scan tool, read MAP sensor voltage. If MAP sensor voltage is one volt or more, remove jumper wire. Go to next step. If MAP sensor voltage is less than one volt, turn ignition off. Remove jumper wire. Replace MAP sensor. Perform «TEST VER-5»(ref-9482-S35719050532000102700000).
  5. Turn ignition off. Ensure MAP sensor connector is still disconnected. Disconnect PCM connectors. PCM is located at passenger's side front corner of engine compartment on inner fender panel. Using ohmmeter, check resistance between Dark Green/Red wire on MAP sensor connector and terminal No. 27 (Dark Green/Red wire) on PCM connector C1. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair open on Dark Green/Red wire between PCM and MAP sensor. Perform «TEST VER-5»(ref-9482-S35719050532000102700000).
  6. Ensure MAP sensor connector and PCM connectors are still disconnected. Using ohmmeter, check resistance between Black/Light Blue wire on MAP sensor connector and terminal No. 4 (Black/Light Blue wire) on PCM connector C1. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace PCM. Perform «TEST VER-5»(ref-9482-S35719050532000102700000). If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair open on Black/Light Blue wire between PCM and MAP sensor. Perform «TEST VER-5»(ref-9482-S35719050532000102700000).
  7. Shut engine off. Inspect wiring harness and connectors between MAP sensor and PCM. On 4.7L, MAP sensor is located on front of intake manifold. (Схема №36) On 5.2L and 5.9L, MAP sensor is located on side of throttle body. (Схема №37) On all models, PCM is located at passenger's side front corner of engine compartment on inner fender panel. If no problems exist, go to next step. If any problems exist, repair wiring or connectors as necessary. Perform «TEST VER-5»(ref-9482-S35719050532000102700000).
  8. Start engine and allow engine to idle. Using scan tool, monitor MAP sensor voltage while wiggling wiring harness and connectors between MAP sensor and PCM. If MAP sensor voltage does not change while wiggling wiring harness and connectors, test is complete. If MAP sensor voltage changes while wiggling wiring harness and connectors, repair wiring or connector as necessary that caused voltage to change. Perform «TEST VER-5»(ref-9482-S35719050532000102700000).
