Combination Valve for Secondary Air System, Checking for Proper Operation and Leakage Audi TT 8N

Scheme 251: Combination valve for secondary air system, checking for proper operation and leakage
  1. Hand operated vacuum pump V.A.G 1390

Requirements

  1. Vacuum hoses and hose connections do not leak
  2. Vacuum hoses are not clogged

Work sequence

  1. Move electrical wire (arrow) clear.
  2. Loosen hose clips -1- and -2- and remove air hose between air cleaner housing and Throttle valve control module -J338-.
  3. Disconnect vacuum hose at combination valve.

  1. Connect hand vacuum pump V.A.G 1390 to vacuum connection of combination valve.
  1. Disconnect secondary air hose at position marked with an arrow.
  2. Blow gently into hose for combination valve (do not use compressed air).
  1. Combination valve must be closed; blowing through must not be possible
  1. Operate hand vacuum pump.
  1. Combination valve should open; it should now be possible to blow through hose

If the combination valve does not open

  1. Replace combination valve. Refer to «Combination valve for secondary air system, removing and installing»(ref-276269-S39915998252008010300000) .
