Note. The operation "Engine to Engine Assembly Stands (KM-412), Attach" is described for an X 16 XEL engine with AC and manual transmission. Proceed analogously for other engine and equipment versions,
Remove
Remove engine – see operation "Engine, Remove and Install",
Detach coolant line (4) from receiver-dryer,
Disconnect wiring harness plug (5) from AC compressor,
Detach coolant hose (1) from thermostat housing and coolant hose (2) from coolant pipe,
Remove cooling module (3) from brackets and lay or place aside,
Detach refrigerant line from AC compressor,
Detach wiring trough bracket from cylinder block,
Remove left axle shaft with KM-313 and KM-6003-1 and right axle shaft with KM-460-B from differential – place collecting basin underneath,
Close off openings in differential with closure plugs,
Mark running direction of ribbed V-belt. Release ribbed V-belt via ribbed V-belt tension roller and remove,
Disconnect alternator electrically. Remove wiring harness plug for crankshaft pulse pick-up from bracket,
Remove fastening bolts (1) from alternator support,
Detach alternator from bracket (upper) and remove with alternator support,
Remove intake manifold support (2) from intake manifold and cylinder block,
Remove fastening bolt (5) for front engine damping block,
Remove fastening bolt (4) for rear engine damping block,
Suspend engine on workshop crane and lift from front axle body,
Attach engine with Adapters KM-412-3 (1) and (2) to Engine Assembly Stands KM-412 (3),
Remove all transmission fastening bolts – except one fastening bolt on cylinder block,
Suspend transmission on engine crane,
Remove last transmission fastening bolt and detach transmission (1) from engine,
