Note. The engine must be removed and attached to engine assembly stands (KM-412) as a precondition for this operation – see operations "Engine, Remove and Install" and "Engine to Engine Assembly Stands (KM-412), Attach",
Install
Flange transmission (1) to engine and attach with a transmission fastening bolt,
Detach transmission from workshop crane,
Attach transmission to cylinder block and oil pan:
Transmission to cylinder block – tightening torque 60 Nm / 44 lbf. ft,
Transmission to oil pan – tightening torque 40 Nm / 29.5 lbf. ft,
Remove
Suspend engine on workshop crane. Detach Adapters KM-412-3 (1) and (2) from Engine Assembly Stands KM-412 (3),
Detach Adapter KM-412-3 from cylinder block,
Place engine carefully on front axle body,
Install
Attach rear engine damping block to front axle body with new fastening nut (4) – tightening torque 55 Nm / 41 lbf. ft,
Attach front engine damping block to front axle body with new fastening nut (5) – tightening torque 55 Nm / 41 lbf. ft,
Unhitch engine from workshop crane,
Attach intake manifold support to intake manifold and cylinder block,
Attach alternator support to cylinder block – tightening torque 35 Nm / 26 lbf. ft,
Attach alternator to alternator shackle (1) with upper fastening bolt (2) – tightening torque 20 Nm / 15 lbf. ft,
Attach left and right axle shafts to differential – place collecting basin underneath,
Attach cable retainer (3) to cylinder block with fastening bolts (4) – tightening torque 35 Nm / 26 lbf. ft,
Attach refrigerant line to AC compressor – tightening torque 20 Nm / 15 lbf. ft,
Insert cooling module (3) in bracket. Attach coolant hose (1) to thermostat housing and coolant hose (2) to coolant pipe,
Connect wiring harness plug (5) for AC compressor,
Attach refrigerant line (4) to receiver-dryer – tightening torque 20 Nm / 15 lbf. ft,
Inspect
Check and correct level of transmission fluid – see operation "Transmission Fluid Level, Check and Correct (F 17)" in group "K",
Install
Install engine – see operation "Engine, Remove and Install",
