How to Replace the Throttle Body Opel Vivaro A

Remove

  1. 1. Release coolant hose (1) from support clip (2) of resonance chamber
  1. 2. Release resonance chamber (3) with ducting hose from air cleaner cover, then move to one side • Release strap (1) from support bracket (2)
  1. 3. Disconnect brake vacuum pipe (1) from intake manifold, then move to one side • Release connector
  2. 4. Remove air cleaner cover (2) from air cleaner housing • Remove 2x screw

Important. Ensure vehicle ignition is switched OFF before disconnecting harness connector.

  1. 5. Disconnect harness connector (2) from throttle body • Release security tag (1)
  1. 6. Remove air cleaner housing (1) from engine compartment • Remove 2x bolt • Release harness for oxygen sensor from air cleaner housing (1)

Important. Take care not to damage vacuum pipe (1) when disconnecting.

  1. 7. Disconnect vacuum pipe (1) from throttle body, then move to one side • Use Remover KM-317-B
  2. 8. Remove throttle body (2) from intake manifold • Remove 3x bolt

Install

  1. 9. Install new throttle body (2) to intake manifold • Install 2x new O ring to throttle body • Apply locking compound to thread of upper bolt – see “Sealants, Lubricants and Locking Compounds” • Install 3x bolt 9 Nm
  2. 10. Connect vacuum pipe (1) to throttle body • Push fit
  1. 11. Install air cleaner housing (1) to engine • Secure harness for oxygen sensor to air cleaner housing (1) • Install 2x bolt
  1. 12. Connect harness connector (2) to throttle body • Secure security tag (1)
  1. 13. Install air filter cover (2) to air cleaner housing • Install 2x screw
  2. 14. Connect brake vacuum pipe (1) to intake manifold • Secure connector
  1. 15. Install resonance chamber (3) with ducting hose to air cleaner cover • Secure strap (1) to support bracket (2)
  1. 16. Secure coolant hose (1) to support clip (2) of resonance chamber
  1. 17. For vehicles with F4R 820 engine, program throttle body using Tech 2.
