Engine Survey
The G9U 630 engine, introduced for Vivaro MY 2007, has exhaust emissions that comply with Euro IV standards.
The G9U 630 engine is similar to the G9U 730 engine available up to MY 2006, but with the following new features. These features are described starting at the timing belt end and proceeding clockwise around the engine:
- Timing belt cover, new shape and material
- Timing belt, new material
- Oxygen sensor (broad band type) at primary catalytic converter
- Turbocharger turbine temperature sensor
- Fabricated exhaust manifold with torque sleeve retaining system
- New design turbocharger, water cooled variable vane type
- Pre-catalytic converter, new material
- Common rail cover, new shape
- Breather pipe, has in-line valve
- Cam cover and intake manifold, new shape (running change introduced April 2006)
- Intake manifold, lower, new shape (running change introduced April 2006)
- EGR valve, new design
- Introduction of air flap before EGR valve and intake manifold
- Introduction of EGR cooler, with bypass valve pneumatically operated via solenoid valve
- High pressure fuel pump, new model
- New style dipstick tube, with fastening latch on dipstick
