Replace Engine Oil Level Sensor Opel Astra H

Remove

1. 1. Open bonnet
2. 2. Disconnect battery • Detach earth connection from earth terminal – Slacken 1x nut
3. 3. Raise vehicle by its full height
4. 4. Detach the lower engine cover and right engine splash guard
5. 5. Place collecting basin underneath.
6. 6. Drain engine oil • Unscrew oil drain bolt (3) • Replace gasket • Tighten oil drain bolt 78.4 Nm
7. 7. Detach lower part of oil pan (1) from upper part of oil pan (2) with KM-J-37228 • Unscrew 15x bolts

8. 8. Remove engine oil level sensor • Remove retaining clamp (1) • Unscrew 3x bolts (2)

Install

9. 9. Install engine oil level sensor • Replace gasket • Tighten 3x bolt 24 Nm • Install retaining clamp
10. 10. Clean sealing surfaces.
11. 11. Remove lower part of oil pan • Apply a bead of silicone sealant (grey) to the sealing surfaces of the lower part of the oil pan • Tighten 15x bolt 9.8 Nm
12. 12. Install lower engine cover and right engine splash guard
13. 13. Lower vehicle
14. 14. Top up engine oil • Check oil level
15. 15. Connect battery • Attach ground connection to ground terminal – Tighten nut
16. 16. Program volatile memories
17. 17. Close bonnet
