Remove
- 1. Remove piston with con-rod
Important. Do not damage piston or con-rod. Use protective jaws.
- 2. Insert piston in vice with con-rod
Important. Maximum ring gap spread must not exceed measurement I ( 28 mm )
- 3. Detach piston rings • Remove 3x piston rings using piston ring pliers (1)
- 4. Check piston ring gap with feeler gauge • Insert piston ring in cylinder bore • Permissible ring gap: – 1st compression ring (1) 0.20 - 0.30 mm – 2nd compression ring (2) 1.00 - 1.50 mm – Oil scraper ring (3) 0.25 - 0.50 mm
- 5. Check piston ring axial play with feeler gauge in piston ring groove • Permissible axial play: – 1st compression ring (1) 0.09 - 0.13 mm – 2nd compression ring (2) 0.04 - 0.08 mm – Oil scraper ring (3) 0.03 - 0.07 mm
