A/F Sensor Replacement
Special Tools Required
O2 sensor wrench, Snap-on YA8875 or SWR2, or equivalent, commercially available

- Disconnect the A/F sensor 4P connector (A) and the clip (B), then remove the A/F sensor (C).
- Install the parts in the reverse order of removal.
Secondary HO2S Replacement
Special Tools Required

- Disconnect the secondary HO2S 4P connector (A) and the clips (B), then remove the secondary HO2S (C).
- Install the parts in the reverse order of removal.

- Disconnect the CMP sensor B 3P connector (A).
- Remove CMP sensor B.
- Install the parts in the reverse order of removal with a new O-ring (C).

- Disconnect the CKP sensor 3P connector (A).
- Remove the CKP sensor (B).
- Install the parts in the reverse order of removal with a new O-ring (C).
- Do the CKP pattern clear/CKP pattern learn procedure with the HDS (see «CKP PATTERN CLEAR/CKP PATTERN LEARN»(ref-379880-S33629509612010121600000) ).
Scheme 700
- Disconnect the output shaft (countershaft) speed sensor 3P connector (A).
- Remove the output shaft (countershaft) speed sensor (B).
- Install the parts in the reverse order of removal with a new O-ring (C).

- Disconnect the knock sensor 1P connector (A).
- Remove the knock sensor (B).
- Install the parts in the reverse order of removal

- Disconnect the MAP sensor 3P connector (A).
- Remove the MAP sensor (B).
- Install the parts in the reverse order of removal with a new O-ring (C).

- Disconnect the MAF sensor/IAT sensor 5P connector (A).
- Remove the screws (B).
- Remove the MAF sensor/IAT sensor (C).
- Install the parts in the reverse order of removal with a new O-ring (D).

- Remove the air cleaner (see «AIR CLEANER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-255502-S32818153342007060300000) ).
- Disconnect the CMP sensor A 3P connector (A), and the CMP sensor B 3P connector (B).
- Remove the harness cover (C).
- Disconnect the ECT sensor 1 2P connector (A).
- Remove ECT sensor 1 (B).
- Install the parts in the reverse order of removal with a new O-ring (C), then refill the radiator with engine coolant (see «COOLANT REPLACEMENT»(ref-255495-S02925652222007060300000) ).

- Drain the engine coolant (see «COOLANT REPLACEMENT»(ref-255495-S02925652222007060300000) ).
- Remove the splash shield; 2-door (see «FRONT SPLASH SHIELD REPLACEMENT»(ref-255547-S22738901122007060300000) ), 4-door (see «FRONT SPLASH SHIELD REPLACEMENT»(ref-255547-S22738901122007060300000) ).
- Disconnect the ECT sensor 2 2P connector (A), then remove ECT sensor 2 (B).
- Install parts in the reverse order of removal with a new O-ring (C).
- Install the splash shield; 2-door (see «FRONT SPLASH SHIELD REPLACEMENT»(ref-255547-S22738901122007060300000) ), 4-door (see «FRONT SPLASH SHIELD REPLACEMENT»(ref-255547-S22738901122007060300000) ).
- Refill the radiator with engine coolant (see «COOLANT REPLACEMENT»(ref-255495-S02925652222007060300000) ).

- Remove the ECM (see «ECM REPLACEMENT»(ref-355119-S26942562032010012000000) ).
- Remove the under-hood fuse/relay box (see «REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION»(ref-255542-S37835188672007060300000) ).
- Remove the screw (A).
- Turn the housing over, then remove the screw (A).
- Turn the housing over again. Using two flat-tip screwdrivers, release the tabs (A), and pry up the fuse/relay box base (B) from the fuse/relay box housing (C). NOTE: Make sure the terminals (D) are not bent or damaged.
- Turn the housing over again, then remove the ELD (A).
- Install the parts in the reverse order of removal.
ECM Replacement
Special Tools Required
- Honda diagnostic system (HDS) tablet tester
- Honda interface module (HIM) and an iN workstation with the latest HDS software version
- HDS pocket tester
- GNA600 and an iN workstation with the latest HDS software version
Any one of the above updating tools can be used.

- Connect the HDS to the data link connector (DLC) (A) located under the driver's side of the dashboard.
- Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
- Make sure the HDS communicates with the ECM and other vehicle systems. If it doesn't, go to the «DLC CIRCUIT TROUBLESHOOTING»(ref-355119-S04276123312010012000000) . If you are returning from DLC circuit troubleshooting, skip steps 4 through 7 , 18 through 20 , 23 , and 24 , and do this after replacing the ECM: Replace the engine oil (see «ENGINE OIL REPLACEMENT»(ref-255489-S28625792292007060300000) ) and the engine oil filter (see «ENGINE OIL FILTER REPLACEMENT»(ref-255489-S37205815792007060300000) ). Clean the throttle body (see «THROTTLE BODY CLEANING»(ref-255502-S05877419632007060300000) ).
- Select the PGM-FI system with the HDS.
- Select the INSPECTION MENU with the HDS.
- Select the ETCS TEST, then select the TP POSITION CHECK, and follow the screen prompts. NOTE: If the TP POSITION CHECK indicates FAILED, continue with this procedure.
- Select the REPLACE ECM MENU, then READ DATA, and follow the screen prompts. NOTE: Doing this step copies (READS) the engine oil life data from the original ECM so you can later download (WRITES) it into the new ECM. If READ DATA indicates FAILED, continue with this procedure.
- Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
- Jump the SCS line with the HDS.
- Do the battery removal procedure (see «BATTERY REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION»(ref-255511-S12704431312009112300000) ).
- Remove the cover (A).
- Remove the bolts (D), then remove the ECM (E).
- Disconnect ECM connectors A, B, and C. NOTE: ECM connectors A, B, and C have symbols (A=[], B=delta, C=o) embossed on them for identification.
- Install the ECM in the reverse order of removal.
- Do the battery installation procedure (see «BATTERY REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION»(ref-255511-S12704431312009112300000) ).
- Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
- Manually input the VIN to the ECM with the HDS. NOTE: DTC P0630 VIN Not Programmed or Mismatch may be stored because the VIN has not been programmed into the ECM; ignore it, and continue this procedure.
- If the READ DATA (engine oil life) failed in step 8 , go to step 21 . Otherwise, go to step 19.
- Select the PGM-FI system with the HDS.
- Select the REPLACE ECM MENU, then WRITE DATA, and follow the screen prompts. NOTE: If the WRITE DATA indicates FAILED, continue with this procedure.
- Select IMMOBI system with the HDS.
- Enter the immobilizer code that you got from the iN, or use the ECM replacement procedure in the HDS; it allows you to start the engine.
- If the TP POSITION CHECK failed in step 6 clean the throttle body (see «THROTTLE BODY CLEANING»(ref-255502-S05877419632007060300000) ), then go to step 24.
- If the READ DATA failed in step 7 or the WRITE DATA failed in step 20 , replace the engine oil (see «ENGINE OIL REPLACEMENT»(ref-255489-S28625792292007060300000) ) and engine oil filter (see «ENGINE OIL FILTER REPLACEMENT»(ref-255489-S37205815792007060300000) ), then go to step 25.
- Select PGM-FI system, and reset the ECM with the HDS.
- Update the ECM if it does not have the latest software (see «ECM UPDATE»(ref-355119-S38923566472010012000000) ).
- Do the ECM idle learn procedure (see «ECM IDLE LEARN PROCEDURE»(ref-255526-S39475388272007060300000) ).
- Do the CKP pattern clear/CKP pattern learn procedure (see «CKP PATTERN CLEAR/CKP PATTERN LEARN»(ref-379880-S33629509612010121600000) ).
