SERVICE INTERVALS

Inspect transaxle fluid level every 15,000 miles. Change intervals under normal service are not recommended by the manufacturer. Under severe service, change transaxle fluid every 52,500 miles.

RECOMMENDED FLUID

DRAINING & REFILLING

  1. Raise and support vehicle. Remove drain plug and drain fluid into proper container. Note approximate amount of fluid drained for refill quantity reference. Replace drain plug and tighten to 30 ft. lbs. (40 N.m). Fill transaxle through dipstick tube with specified fluid type. See «RECOMMENDED FLUID»(ref-157395-S29368842272003081200000) .
  2. Ensure vehicle is on a level surface. Apply parking brake. Start engine and apply brakes. Allow engine to reach normal operating temperature. Move gearshift lever through all positions, ending in "P" position. Recheck fluid level. Add fluid as needed. Do not overfill transaxle. Reset fluid change counter. RESETTING FLUID CHANGE COUNTER

Note. If DTCs 0042 (fluid change counter has exceeded limit) or 0046 (transaxle fluid temperature has exceeded limit), Winter mode indicator light will flash.

Connect scan tool to DLC. Select VCT 2000 and press continue. Transaxle fluid change counter is reset.
