Requirements Audi A8 D2

1. Oil level OK
2. Oil pressure warning light -K3- must light up when ignition is switched ON
3. For vehicles with Auto-Check system, the display must light up (advance through the displays)
4. Engine oil temperature approx. 80°C (176°F), radiator coolant fan must have switched on at least once

Scheme 103

1. Disconnect wire from 0.3 bar oil pressure switch (brown insulation).
2. Remove oil pressure switch and install oil pressure tester VAG 1342.
3. Connect cable -2- (brown) to Ground (GND).
4. Connect cable -1- (blue) to oil pressure switch.
5. Clamp VAG 1527B LED voltage tester to cable -1- and Battery Positive Voltage (B+). see scheme 118: Identifying VAG 1342 & 1527
6. Start engine and check oil pressure while slowly increasing engine speed (RPM). OIL PRESSURE SPECIFICATIONS Oil pressure specification Idle 1 to 2.5 bar (15-36 psi) 3000 RPM 3 to 5 bar (44-72 psi)

Note. The 0.3 bar oil pressure switch (brown insulation) switch opens between 0.15 and 0.45 bar (2-6.5 psi). The 1.8 bar oil pressure switch (white insulation) switch closes between 1.6 and 2.0 bar (23-29 psi).
